Community Connections for Children is all about “Connections”

All of our programs focus on connecting families and caregivers with the resources and support services that increase the quality of care they provide to the children and families they serve.

KIDSAFE

Community Connections for Children connects relative caregivers, babysitters and nannies to Health & Safety resources through our KIDSAFE program. If you are providing care to children in a home-based setting, our provider specialist will help you evaluate your environment and you could be eligible to receive a Health and Safety kit for your home.

CONNECTIONS TO CAREGIVING

Community Connections for Children connects people interested in providing child care services in their home to the resources and support to start their own child care business. Connections to Caregiving is a pre-service training series for those interested in becoming state certified as a Family Child Care Home or in starting or expanding to a Group Child Care Home. This five-series training is free of charge to York County residents and focuses on the state requirements, home health and safety, business practices and educational aspects of starting a business in a home setting.

*Dates for Fall 2023 will be presented in English as well as Spanish.  Check back for more information.

P.A.C.E. (Providing Advanced Child Care Education)

Connecting in-home child care providers with the resources and technical assistance supports to enhance their business practices and increase their quality is the goal of our P.A.C.E. program. This program consists of professional development sessions as well as in home mentoring. This program is free to York County home-based providers who have been in business a minimum of one year.  This is an extension of our “Connections to Caregiving” series and focuses on Supervision, Developmentally Appropriate Practices and Professionalism. Participants are connected to other Pennsylvania Quality Improvement programs like Keystone STARS and NAFCC accreditation opportunities.
